python-meminfo-total software package provides Python module to determine the amount of system memory, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-meminfo-total
python-meminfo-total is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-meminfo-total package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-meminfo-total *
You will get with python-meminfo-total package name, version, architecture and description in a table
